Christmas is a busy time here at the cattery. A lot of people go on holiday over Christmas – visiting friends and family living far away or just wanting to grab a week or two of sunshine at the darkest time of the year. Their cats come to us for a holiday of their own, and we do our best to make their Christmas as special as possible.
I hope you’ve noticed our Christmas lights! We try to put up a different display each year. And yes, it’s for the benefit of our human customers and for us, but if the humans visiting the cattery go in with a smile and a cheerful tone of voice the cats will pick up on that happiness.
If you’ve left your cats with us this Christmas, please enjoy your time away. Your cats will be getting fuss and all the treats they’re allowed during their stay. I know that some of them will repay us by purring while some will sing us their own cats’ Christmas carol as we walk past their pen. Others are too busy watching the birdies play on the grass or in the courtyard to chat. They will all get their share of attention and a stocking hung up on their pen door at Christmas.
